Vaultr for Frequent Travelers and Digital Nomads: Your Money and Messages, Anywhere

How Vaultr's seedless self-custody wallet and encrypted messenger keep your crypto and conversations with you across borders, devices, and unreliable networks.

If you live out of a suitcase, Vaultr keeps your crypto and your conversations with you across borders and unreliable networks. It’s a self-custody wallet and encrypted messenger in one app, works on iOS, Android, the web, and as an installable PWA where app stores are blocked, and it never asks you to memorize a seed phrase.

Wherever you go, follow local laws and lawful customs and border requirements.

Why is travel so hard on a normal crypto wallet?

Moving between countries exposes every weak point in a traditional wallet setup. You hop between SIM cards and patchy Wi‑Fi, you cross regions where certain apps simply will not download, and you carry a phone that could be lost or stolen on any given day.

Most wallets answer all of that with a 12‑word seed phrase scrawled on paper. Lose the paper and you lose the money. Photograph it for safekeeping and you’ve created the exact vulnerability you were trying to avoid. For someone constantly in transit, that model is fragile.

Vaultr is built differently. There is no seed phrase to lose. Your wallet is an ERC‑4337 smart wallet, and the keys are split using Shamir Secret Sharing in a 2‑of‑3 arrangement:
